Midwest Premier!

Congratulations to the Schindewolf-Strack Intermediate Percussion Ensemble for their outstanding performance at the 2011 MidWest Clinic and Convention this December. The group premiered "Parallel Dimensions" for percussion septet at theuir concert to rave reviews from audience members. The piece is now published by C. Alan Music Publishers and may be purchased through your local music retailer!

Grand Mesa!
Carnivore! marks a return to the Grand Mesa catalog for the first time in many years! This exciting piece for young band may be purchased at your local music retailer!

New Publications!
C. Alan Music Publishers have contracted to publish two new pieces, "Casu Consulto" and "Destination Cincopation" Both should be completed and on the shelves sometime this summer!


Kentucky Premiere!
Special thanks to Dr. Sue Creasap and the Morehead State Symphonic Band for their oustanding hard work in preparing the Kentucky premiere of "Cycle of Opposites!" In addition to attending the Synphonic Band concert in November, Mr. Nitsch remained in Morehead over the weekend to conduct one of the Tri-State Honor Bands at Morehead State comprised of junior high school musicians from across the region. Thanks to Dr. Miles, Dr. Creasap and all the students at Morehead State!


New Piece set of TMEA Premiere!
The North Lamar High School Band will present "Forward" for Wind Ensemble and Solo Marimba, featuring guest soloist Dr. Brian Zator (Texas A&M Commerce), during their 3A Honor Band Concert at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention in February 2011 in San Antonio, TX!


Upcoming Performances
Director of Bands Scott Deppe and the Lamar University Wind Ensemble will be recording several works in the next few weeks. Recordings will be posted on the website as soon as they are ready! Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!


Film Works
Work is nearly complete on the music and underscoring for the independent documentary film “Library of the Early Mind,” directed by noted author Edward Delaney. Both director and composer are currently revising their work and hope to have it completed shortly. Coming Soon
Work has begun on a new percussion ensemble (6 players) titled “Blue Plate Special at the Paranoid Café”. Work should be completed by mid-May and groups interested in participating in the premiere should e-mail the composer at jason@suburbanzombiemusic.com

The wind ensemble transcription of “What Is and What Shall Be” (originally orchestra 2005) is finally nearly completion. Scores and sets should be available from the website in the next month, a new recording will follow when available.

Finally, groups are being sought to participate in a national commission consortium for a grade 3 (ish) composition for concert band for premiere in early spring 2011. Groups wishing to participate should contact me at jason@suburbanzombiemusic.com
